About Torna Fort
Torna Fort, also known as Prachandagad, is one of the most significant historical forts in Maharashtra. It is the first fort captured by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in 1646 at the age of just 16, marking the beginning of the Swarajya movement.
Located around 65 km from Pune, Torna stands at an altitude of 1,403 meters, making it one of the tallest forts in the district. The fort is famous for its massive structures, long fortification walls, and breathtaking Sahyadri landscapes.
